Omamoris are amulets that can be purchased in temples and shrines, to bring luck and protection. Omamoris are the “accessory” form of ofudas, talismans made of wood, paper, fabric or metal, and inscribed with the name or symbol of a kami, or with the temple or sanctuary from which it comes. The word omamori is generally used to refer to these types of talismans. The omomoris, therefore, are composed of a ofuda enclosed in a small bag of fabric. There are different types depending on where they come from and the role assigned to them.

Apart from these omamoris that are the most common, we can also find more specific ofudas, or blessings based on the unique practices of shrines or temples. The selection of omomoris is varied and can meet a wide range of personal needs and desires.
